BON MOTT: It Wasn’t The First, It Wasn’t The Last

Bon Mott is a multidisciplinary artist whose work encompasses design and performance with a major emphasis on spatial/sculptural practice. Currently her work explores the realm of performance art, embodying Bon Mott, the female ghost of AC/DC’s deceased frontman, Bon Scott. Mott’s practice encompasses a meditation on the female journey in Australia, both personal and collective, through choreography, film, lighting and sound. The layering of these elements conjure the persona of Bon Mott and the voyage of her spirit, confronting the machismo of the late Bon Scott. Mott’s usually naked performances as a ghost are dreamlike – a perpetual journey addressing contemporary issues of gender identity, body image, sensuality and empowerment. Read more…..
