Capocchi: An oasis of treasure in Collingwood

If you love antiques, art and collectibles then come and check out the newly opened Capocchi Collingwood at 360-364 Smith Street. Owners Angela Capocchi and Steve McKinnon are a rock’n duo with an infectious passion for 19th and 20th century furniture, lighting and decorative arts.

Angela and Steve are not newcomers to the industry though. They have been sourcing and selling antiques with dealers Phil and Liz Capocchi (Capocchi Armadale) for well over a decade and now have ventured to the other side of the river to open their new show room in the edgy art and design precinct of Collingwood.

They’ve opened up a Pandora’s Box of artworks by artists from the 60’s and 70’s and beautifully restored furniture and decorative items sourced directly from Europe. From Deco to Retro, their cabinets host some truly unique items (I just love the python in a glass jar!).

These guys definitely have an eye for decorative design and are happy to share their creative flare with design services for advertising and film set stylists and event planners as well as a full design consultation service for private clients who would love to see their style reflected in their home.

I absolutely love finding unusual pieces that create great conversation when placed randomly throughout my house…and this place is full of them! It’s like walking into a beautifully curated oasis of treasure from the past.

Grab a coffee, hit the Smith St curbs and find yourself a gem from the new Silk Road of Smith Street. You won’t be disappointed.
