SYDNEY CONTEMPORARY : AUSTRALIA’S INTERNATIONAL ART FAIR
Sydney Contemporary, Australasia’s international art fair, opens next week (Opening Night 10 September) with a diverse gathering of Australian and international galleries.
It’s all taking place at Carriageworks, presenting over 90 galleries from 13 countries that will exhibit cutting-edge art and the next generation of emerging talent. There will be curated sectors for contemporary video, installation art and performance as well as five days of public programs, appealing to the experienced, the novice, the discerning art enthusiast and those simply curious about buying and living with art.
Created by Tim Etchells, the co-founder of ART HK (now Art Basel in Hong Kong) and more recently the Hong Kong art fair Art Central, the event is the latest and most exciting addition to a line-up of increasingly influential fairs around the world.
Last year the event attracted over 28,000 collectors, industry professionals and the art-loving public. This year’s Sydney Contemporary 2015 is set to be even more impressive.
